Land Purchase Solidifies Borough of Oceanport’s Plan for New Municipal Complex on Fort Monmouth
The Borough of Oceanport can soon move forward with its plans for a new municipal complex, following its purchase of land from the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA). The 13-acre tract of land located in the Fort’s 900 area will be the site of Oceanport’s future town hall, community center and police department building.
“The closing of this sale will allow the Borough of Oceanport to begin executing its plans for a permanent home on the Fort,” FMERA Executive Director Bruce Steadman said. “Creation of this important municipal campus will enable Oceanport to rebuild in the manner best suited to its operations, to serve its residents well into the future.”
